Amy Blankenbiller founded AjB Strategies, LLC in 2009. She works with trade associations, non-profits and private companies in the following areas: communications, message development, federal and state legislative and regulatory advocacy, event planning
and logistics, fundraising, coalition building, grassroots, association management
and leadership training.

Prior to starting her own firm, Ms. Blankenbiller was the President and CEO of the Kansas Chamber of Commerce, one of the largest business advocacy organizations in the state. For nearly twenty years before returning to Kansas, Ms. Blankenbiller lived and worked
in the Washington, DC area. Amy was a Senior Associate at Waterman & Associates,
a privately owned consulting and lobbying firm and Legislative Director for the National Associate of Homebuilders. Amy received a political appointment from President George H.W. Bush and served as a Congressional Liaison at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. She also worked on Capitol Hill for U.S. Representative Bob Whittaker and U.S. Senator Bob Dole.

Ms. Blankenbiller was an adjunct professor at the George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management. She served on the Board of the Washington, DC Kansas Society, was President of the DC Area KU Alumni Association and was an invited participant for the 2009 RNC Women’s Leadership Conference. Amy is also a graduate of the 2008 Leadership Kansas Program, is on the Board and current Treasurer for the Eisenhower Excellence in Public Service Series and has served on boards for numerous other organizations. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas
and has completed coursework toward a Masters Degree at the University of Virginia.

The Kansas Chamber is a statewide business advocacy organization comprised of five corporations and five affiliate programs, representing over 10,000 businesses through direct membership and coalition activities.

    Provided technical and strategic advice to clients on environment, energy and business policy.
  • Developed client policies and strategies, including timelines, goals, objectives
    and deliverables.
  • Managed legislative and regulatory initiatives; analyzed impacts; gathered data; and prepared issue briefs, articles, testimony, regulatory comments and position papers.
  • Worked with organizational board and grassroots; managed several task forces, work groups and committees.
  • Represented multiple client interests simultaneously before Congress and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Managed two large annual conferences and numerous other special events.

    Areas of focus included: water, air, solid waste, hazardous waste and Superfund.
